Join us for our 3-week General American Accent Intensive, specially designed for pre-teen and teen actors! Dates: Week 1 - Sunday 12 April Week 2 - Sunday 19 April Week 3 - Sunday 26 April Time: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM Format: 3 x 1 Hour classes What Your Child Will Learn Class 1 – Introduction & Sounds Learn key/basic sounds of the General American accent Understand American specific language that differs from British dialect Play a fun game and complete an improvisation exercise using the accent Start exploring a short, age-appropriate story excerpt Class 2 – Practice & Play Recap key/basic sounds Look at the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) Complete more accent-based games Continue practising the story excerpt Class 3 – Performance Week Opportunity to perform the excerpt out loud Focus on reading fluently using the accent, not memorising the words Children may read directly from the excerpt during their performance This mini intensive is a fun, supportive introduction to accent work, helping children build confidence, improve reading fluency, and develop their speaking skills while exploring playful storytelling.
